Google Voice allows me to record conversations and it is automatically available on the Google Voice web client available for download and is also available for any phone as well :)

But I agree, this would be a pretty awesome feature for the iPhone to include natively.

lots of old dumb phones have this option... it's nice when you need proof - a friend of mine could have used this feature a couple years back when his soon to be ex wife was harassing him

Its a legal can of worms. Skype doesnt have it inbuilt just for that reason.

Like Chris said, most phones have this feature...What I've been doing lately is using that feature on my Nokia e63 to then post to my blog via posterous.com

Google Voice does this. Just press "4" at any point--including when answering the phone--and it will record the call and send it to you as an MP3. Google Voice includes a mandatory "recording call" message so that both parties are notified that the call is being recorded.

I recently used this feature when talking to a journalist for an interview and it was really nice.

I would love this feature. However, with AT&T dropping all my calls, it would be near useless on the iPhone in the US.

What you allude to is a great idea (such a good idea, its been available for years on other phones, despite the legal complications), but I couldn't get over the promise inherent in that first paragraph. So I followed the link.

WOW!!!! voice recording ? on a device with an inbuilt microphone ? with 16 or 32GB to store your recordings ? and its been available since, when ? most of this year ?
