WordPress. I used to really hate it when every time I'd bitch about Blogger people would over and over and over again bring up WordPress, but it's 1,000% better. You should hire Aaron and have him move you over.

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/03/nobody-can-hear-you-scream-if-your-rss.html

Gee dave, do you host your own server, maintain the network to your office, and run your own power plant? At some point you need to trust others to provide services.

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/03/nobody-can-hear-you-scream-if-your-rss.html

Thank you for writing about this Louis because I'm hoping this post gets this issue noticed. FeedBurner is an absolute travesty. Combined with TwtiterFeed it's really a guessing game whether or not your new posts will get tweeted. The whole system is absurd and extremely hard to link up AdSense with. FeedBurner needs to be recognized and overhauled by Google. They are basically dicking over every blogger on the Internet right now. Someone needs to compete...

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/03/nobody-can-hear-you-scream-if-your-rss.html

You should have retained control of your feed from day one Louis, and never should have given it up. I've been saying this over and over since Feedburner first appeared -- it's ridiculous to centralize a technology whose main strength is its power to decentralize. You're eating the seed corn. You're lucky they're failing as softly and slowly as they are. It could have been a lot worse.

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/03/nobody-can-hear-you-scream-if-your-rss.html

lol. I hope it doesn't have an effect on your ability to post from SXSW. Would posterous help if this happens again? I wish I was going, but since I'm not I'll be counting on your posts to fill me in. Have a great time, and try to stay out of trouble! It sound like a geek's version of Spring Break. Who knows what could happen? lol

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/03/nobody-can-hear-you-scream-if-your-rss.html

Louis, would you consider moving based on this... I came across this the other day too - http://posterous.com/ which I was very impresed with - especially as I write a lot when Im on the move, train, plane etc...

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/03/nobody-can-hear-you-scream-if-your-rss.html

My feed seems to be ok, although I notice that it's URL is being changed from

http://feeds.feedburner.com...

to

http://feeds2.feedburner.co...

automatically

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/03/nobody-can-hear-you-scream-if-your-rss.html

I've been contemplating blogging publicly and have used private blogs on WP.com, local installs of WP/WPMU from WP.org, and blogger.com among others. I just have to keep on reminding myself that WP is the best choice because I can eventually move stuff to a separate server if need be and have full control of plugins, layout and export of my data. Too bad about Feedburner, but it just saved me time setting up an account as I get started. Now I can wait on that to see if they make it reliable again.

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/03/nobody-can-hear-you-scream-if-your-rss.html

Kent Newsome found a work-around. http://www.newsome.org/2009...
