One thing the MyAlltop needs is a feed coming *out* of your page. I might use this feed on my blog, in my Twitter feed or even on Facebook.

Matt, one thing I believe it does for me is show my "favorite" feeds, if there is such a thing. Forget a blogroll. I can post up the feeds and people I read most often in one place.

Nice page Louis - I agree, it's a neat product. I like that they give you a custom URL for your feed too. It's like iGoogle, but you can just send a link to someone.

Great post. I'm a fan of both Guy and AllTop and no doubt will create my own custom AllTop page as you have. The question that I will be looking to answer is how is this better/worse/different from netvibes? Netvibes sounds (as I haven't used the new custom AllTop) to be more customizable and shareable. Would love to hear your thoughts as I begin to gather mine.

Meh. For me, it's just another page to maintain and visit. I still prefer google reader as it's easier to use and has the ability to share, star, e-mail, tag, etc.

I still prefer the iGoogle + popurls combo. Alltop has become the dmoz of RSS but the rss-reader feature is just too simple.

I find it rather ironic that my "Alltop is not ready for the mainstream" post is readily visible in that image. As I said in my post, it is a really solid foundation and it will be interesting to see what they do. If they can get blog discovery working well, they can absolutely get mainstream adoption.

Agree, Louis. I follow about 20 topics regularly on AllTop. It will be nice to not have to visit the topic page every time I want to revisit one. I'm in PR/Media/Social media relations, and I find it to be one of the most valuable sites to find the best content on the web, and a great way to discover blogs that may otherwise stay buried in a Google search.

Wouldn't mind RSS feeds for each topic ;-)
