Coins belong in a film canister (assuming you still have any of those). Rattling in a laptop means there is something that could get caught in a fan or (if conductive) might short something or cause a fire.

Had the same thing many years ago when a coin got jammed into the sync/charging slot of a PocketPC. Fortunately it only reset everything and I just lost a few files. These days my iPhone has a pocket all to itself.
