Dawn, the question of my sanity is up for debate by all. And Jay, isn't it 5:30 by you?

I can never have enough music sources either! So you are saying the streaming over 3G is not bad? Does it do enough buffering to handle any signal loss issues on the drive?
  • Louis Gray · 5 months ago
Kiran, the streaming over 3G while driving is great. I even got it to work, but not perfectly, on Edge. There is occasional buffering, but rare.

LOL @Jay re: RSS symbol and cape. Louis, I'm not familiar w/the ins and outs of your radio needs, but Insomnia Radio (ahem...friends of mine) is free. They play totally independent music via podcast. InsomniaRadio.com Great people! :-D

Jesse and Molly, if you like the kind of music I do, you should try Area on Sirius. It has DJ sets from some of the best DJs around the world. It is fantastic.

For anyone that commutes, it's hard to beat satellite radio. I have it, and I know that when I'm in the car, I'm listening to music, not the occasional song in between commercials. Glad to hear you like it!

Louis, I TRY not to listen to music when I'm working. It's distracting to this blonde brain as well as usually I'm reviewing a CD or specific song for someone and have to listen closely in order not to sound totally lame in my review. IR is the one place I'm used to going where it's just for pleasure. I'm not familiar with Area. Group? Place? (blonde talking....... )

Louis - I've been an XM then Sirius subscriber since the start. Agree for those that commute and/or travel a lot in rural areas, the mix is great (and sound awesome). I'd throw a caveat to anyone buying a regular add-on car receiver since the merger. The higher priced and newer models are MUCH better and allow access to a-la-carte programming. Sirius is raising prices $2 shortly to cover a 'music royalty fee'. One thing I'll say about them (unlike DirecTv) ..... Their customer service is first class!

I did the exactly the same thing a couple of weeks ago when their app came out. I get better reception and quality with the iPhone then I do my Sat. receiver built into the car.

Who wouldn't want an application for their awesome Apple gadget, but I wouldn't pay for music, unless I'm a die hard fan for their music, and want to hear every last pitch that comes out of their mouths.
