Topsy looks to me like a spam-site. All of the sudden they started to post trackbacks on my articles "this was twittered by Dan". First I thought it was ok, but they use our stories to rank higher in Google, and finally they replace your blog, even if your content has more quality.
I'n not approving those comments.

Topsy does offer a date range in terms of all results, the last month, day or hour, but you can't granularly select a beginning or end.

Intriguing concept, Louis. Thanks for sharing the screen shots. I just ran some queries and like you indicate, different results than expected. For instance, the top result for "Obama" is obama.alltop.com and not the White House or such.

Maybe this search engine could be improved by allowing the user to specify a date range?
