*confused* - if you send a DM to multiple people in ff, it goes to twitter individually?

sorry, i haven't used the ff beta yet - working on 404s and hacked pages on cn - so if i should know this, i apologize

Allen, Louis is simply pointing out that FF's direct messages are miles ahead of Twitter's. You can't use FF as a magical DM frontend for Twitter.

They're really magical when compared to Twitter's DMs though. I would love to see more articles on this specific topic.

And all I got from that is that I wasn't included in the exclusive baby picture DM. pffft. No fun. ... ... :)

Read this and immediately shared it and posted to Twitter, brilliant.

Nice write-up, and nice screenshots! We need more of this kind of material, to help new users get started, and in general, give them an impression of the riches that FriendFeed has to offer.

Pea... new plan is to ask who wants on the semi-exclusive list. :)

That is a nice way to manage several things at once. Its a same Twitter lets 3rd party apps do the work rather than have these features available and integrated.

Nice features for FriendFeed and Twitter. Comment on your blog. Thanks Louis!

The new plan sounds like a good one! :D

Meryn, there is an entire group (room) for new FriendFeed users. I don't have the group name handy, though.
  • John E. Bredehoft · 8 months ago
That group name is "friendfeed-beginners" (FriendFeed for Beginners).

Note, the FF for Beginners group is after feedback, so please feel free to post any here: http://beta.friendfeed.com/friendfeed-beginners.... Hopefully by the time the new UI goes full it will be all tidied up and ready to go. :-)

Thank you. Also, the list of recommended groups could be useful: http://beta.friendfeed.com/friendfeed-beginners...

Thanks for the shout-out there, Louis... though, I dunno... broadcasting direct messages for all to see? Search engines can't pick up on images, don't know what they say. Alt tags?

Adorable picture! I found your post via friendfeed and came here to your blog! Glad I did as babies always brighten my day and yours is a doll! :-)

That's nothing new....... you can do the same thing at REJAW & the option to do this has been around far longer.
  • Outsanity · 8 months ago
Sadly, no one uses Rejaw ever since the hype up for it last year.
