There is a greasemonkey script that shows a site's number of RSS-subscribers in the bottom-right corner. It now shows 1869 on this page, don't know whether it's correct or not tough.

I would like to see them integrate with Google Friend Connect as I don't have many friends using Google Reader. Shame that I can't sync with Friendfeed as that would increase the conversation considerably!

Although a recent RSS feed addict (February), I've been reading blogs for some time the old fashioned way (search, friends suggestions). It's curious to see how effective a filter you become just by reading and sharing.

I'd been selfishly sharing my own blog in hopes of finding interested (and interactive!) readers. I assume if it's a fairly new blog it'll take some time (1 year) to start gaining an audience. Just swallowed the bullet and moved from typepad to it's own domain (internal link consistencies in only 61 posts took several hours to sort through).

Will continue sharing fun finds interspersed with my own via google reader and elsewhere (I have to start over everywhere, digg, stumble upon, reddit all my old links are to a dead domain)

"you can now, for the first time in my knowledge, see how many other people are subscribed to their feed"

Not true. You can see the number of subscribers for any feed (include Google Reader shared items feeds) by subscribing to it and clicking on "Details".

RSS is dead articles are linkbait, plain and simple. I love people trying to declare relatively new technologies dead already when things like Fax machines truck on (now THOSE are dead). Seriously it's a joke. It's "infotainment", aka fluff. The internet equivalent of a rumor magazine.

Hey I just noticed my Google Reader account name in your screen shot - very cool! I just updated my nickname from "Susan M" to "Susan M. Beebe" so my full name shows up now.

This new set of features is pretty slick... gonna have to chew on this later this evening.

As always, you're right on top of things. I can see you peering down the "firehose" lookin' at all the cool, new innovative social media goodies blasting out, thanks Louis!

    Thanks!

I hate not being able to tell Google Reader who my friends are. I’d love to just say, "Hey Google Reader, meet my friends".
