I think this is a huge improvement on FriendFeed's side, but I still see a lot of issues. My biggest complaint is using the mouse to pause the "real-time" feed. There should be a keyboard command to pause it, because going all the way back up to the top of the page is a hassle. Another issue is sharing. If the new FriendFeed is about sharing, and I'm watching a video, with out pausing of course, the "real-time" updating continues, meaning my video moves down, and I'm missing parts of it. FriendFeed should detect that the user is watching a video, and lets give him some time to watch it, before continuing. Just my beta two cents.

I haven't tried to watch a video on the beta FriendFeed, but I recall that behavior from the previous real-time feed that was offered. I like your idea of a keyboard shortcut for pause!

I'm liking it. I've invested some time in making lists much like TweetDeck's groups, so the experience is actually pleasurable and not overwhelming. There are still some kinks to be worked out on the usability side, but I think we have a great start to the "real-time web". Be careful what you wish for :)

It should be noted that Louis is on a plane right now as this goes live. :-)

It would appear that Matthew and Sarah are still hard at work

They do a good job, Jesse. Just landed in Denver. They have two more posts to write!

That was confusing at first, and then I got your email, Louis, saying your on a plane! I was like, huh.

I just hope they don't have the password to your Twitter or FriendFeed account. If you come home to 100 puppies and 50 quarts of ice cream, you'll know your passwords have been compromised.

"...if you follow a ton of folks, be prepared for an onslaught of information."

Yay, that's scary. I prefer the firehose metaphor. lol. I'm just getting used to the old format. Now I have to relearn things anew. But I'm game so I say, bring it. ",)
