Doing all of this within earshot of my coworkers would be very distracting to them, so IM is very helpful in this regard.</p><p>Perhaps if there was a noise cancelling accessory that could allow me to talk on the phone without disturbing my nearby coworkers, I could use the phone instead of IM, since I appreciate your other points about typing at the same time, which often happens when using IM.</p>DavidMon, 25 May 2009 08:54:18 -0000http://blog.louisgray.com/2007/01/why-i-stopped-using-im-and-wont-use.html#comment-429218200<p>Hi Louis,<br><br>I spend quite a bit of my day in front of the computer using IM while I do work. I think IM'ing is like using cell phones, it's not really necessary but it makes things more convenient. <br><br>But when all your friends are signed on, this is a problem.
