But anyway, have fun with it. I know I'll never own one.

Re: louisgray.com: When it Comes to the iPhone, Never Assume Rationality

Ha!

I am so glad that someone else is out there (had) the same issue. I love the innovation that comes out of Apple, but I am taking a step back on this one.

Having spent the last couple of years being a mobility architect I truly appreciate devices for what they are. What I want from a device is one that I can type fast, actually work as a phone and tracks my contacts and calendars.

To a certain extent I want my phone to be boring. That's right, working so well that it's just mundane. That it just works as it should and keeps me connected.

For all its sexiness, I can't be certain of that it will do that. Being off the air is not a trade off I am willing to make.

Hence the hesitation. Now does this mean I can no longer be called an early adopter? :(

Re: louisgray.com: When it Comes to the iPhone, Never Assume Rationality

This is why Apple is Apple! They know how to bypass all the neurons and go talk to our monkey/emotional brain! I would be good to get a review in a couple of weeks of how you like it. Personally, the idea of giving an additional $10 a month to ATT is overshadowing all the Apple goodness. Have a good week end!

Re: louisgray.com: When it Comes to the iPhone, Never Assume Rationality

Louis it's a great device and I think you'll like it. But the firmware is very young and the 3G issues are very real. I don't think it's clear yet if it's the phone, the network, or a combination of both. It'll be interesting how it shakes out (and also to hear how you like the phone.)
