louisgray.com: louisgray.com: Twitter Gives Bing Access to the Firehose, Promises More to Come

Currently Bing Twitter search does not include "historical" tweets. Compare the same Twitter search using both engines:

    Searchtastic: http://www.searchtastic.com/index.php?User=&Sea...

    Bing: http://www.bing.com/twitter/search?q=Michael+Ja...

    Thanks for mentioning us Louis.

    Great example.

Also, the same search in Google:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Atwitter.c...
(some of the results don't include the date; and it doesn't seem to be reverse chronological)

Searchtastic still seems to be the best Twitter search.

Have you thought they could even be profitable? They surely would have charged Microsoft several million dollars for this access and Microsoft can afford it - especially to get it before Google. It sounds like their costs are less than 10 million - so with this one deal they could be profitable or close.

Great post. I am un-impressed by http://www.bing.com/twitter This is a smart move by Twitter: sell the data and then use the money to build a much better experience.
