    I think Twitter's API should be the standard seeing as both Twitter, and Identi support it now. Pownce and Jaiku should support a small subset of the Twitter API to make it more compatible. I think eventually Twitter may actually die, in favour of a federated system like Identi, and then an open discussion can take place on API methods.
