Disqus is a great tool and I am a big endorser of it.

I'm glad you felt comfortable testing it here, and hope to see you back here, even if I don't talk about politics all that often.

Re: louisgray.com: This Super Tuesday, My Choice Was Hillary

(i failed to "reply" and so you'll see this comment repeated below. feel free to delete. i cannot seem to)

ok first of all, thanks for such a quick reply. my own quick reply is due solely to how awesome disqus was in notifying me of your reply. yay! another check mark for disqus in my test.

I agree on MI and FL, and am highly annoyed at her preposterous stance now given that she agreed with the rules before changing them would be to her advantage.

As for Obama's experience, I'll wind this up here. I wrote this piece (I'm a political blogger and Obama volunteer) back in February after getting tired of the "he just makes perty speeches" argument. I'm glad to hear you'll be fine supporting him as the nominee, but if you're interested in more Obama experience arguments, check this http://is.gd/6kW

thanks again. later.

Re: louisgray.com: This Super Tuesday, My Choice Was Hillary

I don't have any regrets over voting for Hillary, to be honest. The campaign has been a lot closer than she had anticipated, and she's gotten increasingly desperate since, to say the least, so some of her actions have been disappointing.

As it's become increasingly clear that Obama will be the nominee, I hope the negative rhetoric gets toned down and that all energy is put to make sure he wins the general. But the Democratic party had some great candidates this year. John Edwards is better than anyone the Republicans had, as was Hillary, as is Obama. I like Obama quite a bit, but my opinions about experience and specific planning still do favor Hillary.

Obama has been winning by sheer execution and planning, and that absolutely has credibility now, and after he is elected. He could put together a dream team cabinet with Jim Webb, Chuck Hagel, John Edwards and Bill Clinton and present that ahead of November... that would be something...

As far as the process... it's broken, period. Michigan and Florida blew it big time. I believe we should follow the rules as they were first intended, so it doesn't mean go back and give all the delegates to Hillary, but what a mess. It should have been done right so their votes were equal in the first place.

Re: louisgray.com: This Super Tuesday, My Choice Was Hillary

i'm curious as to how you feel about the Dem primary process and if your candidate preferences have changed since February. A lot has certainly happened. (i'm also testing disqus).

Re: louisgray.com: This Super Tuesday, My Choice Was Hillary

Jeff, part of the reason I posted this was the continued promotion of Obama we see on many tech sites. I love the enthusiasm, but as one good friend told me this evening on the phone, he voted for Obama due to emotion, not due to research. As I mentioned, the more I know about Hillary, the more sure I am that she would be the right choice. If she does not end up getting the nomination, it's of tantamount importance that a Democrat, any Democrat, be elected, but I think she's the most qualified.

Re: louisgray.com: This Super Tuesday, My Choice Was Hillary

I applaud you for being outspoken about who you voted for, rather than taking the "none of anyone's business" stance that many voters opt for.
