louisgray.com: louisgray.com: The Gray Family Doubles Overnight. Welcome Matthew and Sarah!

  • sarahintampa · 1 year ago
Wow, congratulations!! And love the names you picked :)
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
I thought you might like Sarah. :-)

I'm starting a rumor they were named after you and MG Siegler or Mathew Ingram.
  • sarahintampa · 1 year ago
    I love that rumor!! LOL!
  • Scobleizer · 1 year ago
Photos, we want photos!!! By the way, our son, Milan, was born in the same hospital and he spent the first three days of his life in that same NICU. They are most excellent there and she'll be well cared for. Welcome to the cult of the sleepless! :-)
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
Robert, I think you already know I've made sleep a non-essential element, but now we'll see how we can better juggle these two into our plans. I respect the team here at Lucille Packard, and they are doing great so far. Photos soon... with time.
  • Nick Halstead · 1 year ago
Fantastic news, all the best to the newly enlarged family. Suddenly everything else in the world seems so much less important. We are all so focused on our little web world we sometimes forget the rest of it. Our little one is now only 5 months but one little smile from her means more than a million hits on our site.
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
Nick, thanks. We're already experiencing some of that. Matthew has spent the last two nights with us, mostly me, and I've been largely ignoring the laptop and Blackberry. We had our first visitors today, and brought them to see Sarah in the NICU. Both kids are doing great, but still very touching.

    CONGRATULATIONS :)

    Definitely photos needed!!!

Congratulations Louis, I am with Robert looking forward to seeing some photo's. I have three children and they are a tonne of fun and keep us really busy. Would love to experience having twins, must be amazing. Interested in reading updates about your family adventures, enjoy those sleepless nights!! :-D
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
Thanks for the note - looking forward to all the good times, and knowing there will be bad intermixed. I'll try and remain transparent and active, so you can expect more!
  • Matthias · 1 year ago
Congratulations! The very best for you and your family.
  • Mark Trapp · 1 year ago
Congratulations! So what's their social graph look like? What are they sharing on Google Reader?
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
That's a good question. I haven't sprung for any accounts in their names, and don't think I will. BUT I do promise you that at 36 hours old, Matthew has already worn his Google onesie, and I have a few photos to prove it. Sharing soon.
  • earlmoore · 1 year ago
Congratulations to you and your wife on this wonderful occasion! Sleeping is highly overrated as I'm sure you'll find out for a while.

If there was any time I regretted not being in the US physically, it is this....

Metric Tons of Virtual Congratulations, Louis.
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
Thanks Yuvi. I look forward to your breaking down my posting behavior and online activity pre-kids and post-kids. Give it some time so I can amass some stats. :-)
  • Daniël · 1 year ago

  • Randi (aka "Mrs. Shyftr") · 1 year ago
Congratulations! I hope you get to sneak in sleep now and then (it's so hard with the adrenalin from new babies), and welcome to the world of parenting.
  • hardaway · 1 year ago
So happy for you Louis, even though we have not yet met. We will! I love babies, and my own daughter is pregnant. I am one of Milan Scoble's big fans, too. I think it is wonderful that you reach out to your virual community and we are able to reach back, especially during those long moments of anticipation.
  • Dave Stanley · 1 year ago
Congratulations daddy! Each day is better than the last. Happy and healthy, and I love the names.
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
Thanks to you and "Mrs. Shyftr" for the kind comments. Many more updates to come.

Congrats Louis! From myself and everyone at ReadBurner :)

    Didya get our package?
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
I haven't yet received your package. We haven't been home since Friday, so I'll have to check in soon. No good having the mail overflow. But I do have both high expectations and high anticipations.
  • Graham English · 1 year ago
    Woo Hoo! Congratulations. :D
  • cartoongoddess · 1 year ago
    Congratulations!
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
Congratulations on the new arrivals Louis! As you know, my wife and I just went through a fairly long NICU experience, and I'm certain that these units have some of the best doctors and nurses across the country. Once she gains a little weight, I'm sure you'll have both kids home and then the real fun will begin (along with a constant state of sleep deprivation). It's all worth it in the end though man - every time you look in their eyes and realize that they need you and love you unconditionally. It's amazing! I hope your wife is doing well too. Looking forward to getting some more updates!
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
I'm glad to have learned of your experience, and I honestly tell you I'm not worried about them or the doctors here. Sarah's 4 pound 3 oz (now 4 lb 1 oz) weight was worrisome, but the hospital routinely takes on challenges half the size. We're hoping to provide more updates soon. The real fun has already begun.
  • smbeebe · 1 year ago
~YEAH~!!! I am soooo happy for you and Kristine! Healthy twins make for happy parents and friends!! What a great blessing to have 2 babies in 1 day! woo hooo! Boy & Girl - awesome names....love it! And, yes, where are the PHOTOS??? *must have baby / family photos*

    Congratulations Louis & Kristine!!

    Susan Beebe / @smbeebe
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
Susan, your enthusiasm through this whole process has been fun to watch. Some great friends out there whom I've never met, but may some day! Happy to share the experience with you.
  • kelly! · 1 year ago
    CONGRATS!!!
  • Phil Glockner · 1 year ago
I probably already gave you congrats on FriendFeed, but if not, congrats! Glad to hear everybody is healthy and happy.
  • Daryl Tay · 1 year ago
Oh I feel so terrible for posting late again! This is what happens when you're not on Twitter and don't religiously check feeds over weekends!

Congrats Louis! Very happy for you!
  • Isaak Kwok · 1 year ago
    Congratulations!!

And funnily, the names you have chosen are the exact ones we had decided to name our kids when we discovered that my wife was pregnant. Well, we now have a Matthew in the house. No Sarah yet! :)
  • Kaari Jacobs · 1 year ago
Louis...ping me so I can coordinate food and help for you guys! 650-444-4112. Kaari :)
  • Ken R. · 1 year ago
Double congratulations Louis. If you can master sending messages with one hand, this will likely add more late hours to your entries.
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
I will find a way. For this morning's post, I sat cross-legged, with Matthew across my lap, and had the laptop in front, which worked great. Then my foot fell asleep. :-)
  • Daniel Ha · 1 year ago
I'm so ecstatic about you wearing your Disqus tee during such a moment. Congrats to you and the rest of the Gray family!

I hope Matthew and Sarah become big time geeks as well. :)
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
I was willing to try anything. And after 24 hours, the A's shirt was getting annoying. :-)

Disqus for the win! (Under the blue scrubs of course)
  • CyndyA · 1 year ago
Did you bring the scrubs home?
  • Louis Gray · 1 year ago
We're not home yet. But we're still at the hospital, and yes, I do still have the scrubs. Want 'em?
  • JC John Sese Cuneta (謝施洗) · 1 year ago
    Congrats Louis!
  • Kevin Haggerty · 1 year ago
Well I'm a bit late in offering my congratulations, but better late than never I guess. So - congratulations!

I noticed one thing in your post that made me go 'hmmm'. When you were talking about the babies' sizes you said their weight in pounds, but their height in centimetres. I found that strange, especially coming from some in the US. We're a bit messed up here in Canada, we use metric, but still talk about our height and weight in feet and pounds, even for our babies. :) When my son was born, we got the height measurement in inches...

Anyways, just me rambling. Congratulations again, hope everyone is doing well. I've got lots of posts to catch up on so perhaps I'll get the answer to that question in subsequent posts.
