Let's take Geek one step further and while you mention Roger Craig, check out his blog on Fantasy Football where he introduces a business intelligence tool (Spotfire) loaded with 3 years of fantasy stats to do some extra slicing and dicing.

Ha. I'm all about the laptop and Excel. It's the way to go. Sounds like you have a good system.

Many people just don't break down the hard data. The only problem I ever have with it is how it doesn't take into account when a player changes teams or starts a rookie. I have to go with my gut on some guys based on trends from the previous seasons and my own research.
