louisgray.com: louisgray.com: The Christmas Story, As Told Through Twitter

  • Mona N. · 11 months ago
"MaryofNazareth: RT: @JosephOfGalilee No room at the inn. @InnKeeper1 and @InnKeeper2 both. Kill me now. **Anyone???** #caesartax" HAHAHHAHAHAHA!! Holy Moly, this is gold. GOLD!
  • KathleenLD · 11 months ago
Louis, that's great!! Maybe I'll use this to try explaining Twitter to my family :)
  • Louis Gray · 11 months ago
Kathleen, how did explaining Twitter to your family go? Mine sees
Twitter through the status updates on Facebook, but I'm not forcing
the firehose on them any time soon.
  • KathleenLD · 11 months ago
I just emailed this to them last night. I haven't heard anything back from them yet. In the past when I've talked to them about it they seem to get the idea, but don't see its utility for them. I hoped this would at least make them chuckle :)

    LOVED this.

  • Rich Hill · 11 months ago
    Louis, your genius shines bright!
  • Louis Gray · 11 months ago
Thanks, Rich. Appreciate your comments. I knew all week I needed to
put together the Twitter Christmas story, and just needed to sit down
and get it done. I find six month old twins often have other ideas, in
terms of what I should be doing instead.
  • jeffisageek · 11 months ago
    Thanks for sharing this....great stuff!
  • Rex Hammock · 11 months ago
Merry Christmas, Louis. What a fun present to all of us who enjoy Twitter. And also, Merry Christmas to "your's" -- I'm thinking of those cute baby twins and how special this Christmas must be at your home. All the best.

Utterly brilliant Louis! Made my holiday morning!
  • Louis Gray · 11 months ago
Loki, thanks for the comment. It's been fun to see the post get
ReTweeted and forwarded around. It's hard to know what articles will
be popular, and I've enjoyed seeing the feedback and distribution.
    Glad you enjoyed it.
  • maczter · 11 months ago
That's great. I'm going to make Dad read this version next year. :)
  • Louis Gray · 11 months ago
Maczter, hopefully this story will still be funny next year.
Considering the subject matter won't change, maybe I'll remind folks
    it's here.
  • dkemper · 11 months ago

    Ho ho ho . . . a great Christmas read . . . a new way forwards for literature.
  • Louis Gray · 11 months ago
Your comment "a new way forwards for literature" has me thinking I
should Twitterize some other stories. Could be a lot of fun.

    "The Greatest Story Ever Twittered"
This must be from "The Book of Tweets, 1:40"
  • Louis Gray · 11 months ago
The Book of Tweets, 1:40... was that authored by St. Tweeter?
  • Don The Idea Guy · 11 months ago
I believe you are correct -- from the "New Textament" right?
  • leapingwoman · 11 months ago
very cute, but a missed opportunity for the #tweetup tag!

    as well?
  • Mike · 11 months ago
I think you've created a Christmas classic for the Information Age. Congratulations. Good work.
  • Louis Gray · 11 months ago
Mike, appreciate your comment. I can't call it a classic, as it's so
new. But it was fun to do and fun to see others respond to.
