I'm finding the latest No.1 source of both subscriptions and reads is a direct mention from someone that people trust and / or enjoy (on their blog).  Louis - Your blog has done it and so have others.  As more people share, those reviews get shared.  This seems to be an emerging factor direct blog traffic.
