It probably comes as no surprise that I love to read what people add as a note to the articles I write! Great article.. I admit I didn't notice Benjamin's headline-only feed entry when it came up earlier this week.

I am like Phil...I really like to see/read notes. I think of them as those one line movie reviews...but again I am biased.

I use the "Note in Google Reader" bookmarklet as my primary means on sharing. I may not always add a note but I love the functionality of this little bookmarklet. One reason I do add notes is a method of saving my comments. I like to have backups and alternatives. This way even when Disqus is having trouble, I have a method of archiving my contributions to any sites content. I plan on starting a weekly recap of my aggregated web activity as a regular feature on my blog, so I need this data. Also, from a blogging standpoint, I think sharing these things in as many places as possible is a good networking habit.

Just a quick note: An average of 1.44 notes per story doesn't imply that, if a story gets one note, it has a 44 percent chance of getting a second. In fact, that chance is probably lower--since the average is probably dragged up by stories with more than two posts.
