As I said on the show tonight, it's not necessarily an indication of who's "most influential" as people so often like to talk about, but it does give everyone - including new bloggers - an opportunity to gain exposure and a voice. The stats are computed based on the last 30 days of data, so if a new blogger publishes a dozen quality posts in a month, they stand the same chance of being featured as a blog that employs a half dozen professional writers.

Hopefully, in the long run, it will make us all think a little bit more about what we're writing and if it's something people will care about enough to share with their networks.
