louisgray.com: louisgray.com: Outbrain Unveils Revenue Plan With Advertising That's Not Evil

I went to have a look, claim my blog etc, but one thing that hasn't been made clear yet is that only media networks get the option to receive revenue - individual bloggers appear to be limited to donating any revenue to charity at the moment.

Thanks for your comment, Dan- this is David at Outbrain. To clarify, anyone (media company or individual blogger) can receive direct revenue from our program if their content meets editorial guidelines and if they have US traffic of 100,000+ page views a month, either on one site or batched across several they control. For folks under that traffic bar, we still want to reward the individual but by directing a meaningful portion of any revenue generated on site to a charity of their choice at the end of the year. We hope to eventually roll out to international markets and lift the restrictions on US pageviews but that's a bit further out in our development.

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify,
    David

I was thinking this model is similar to how HiFi shops and car showrooms get reprints from magazines in their showrooms.

I like Outbrain's system itself and I like how they have implemented the advertisements into the system as so far they are relevant (the ones' I have seen so far have been), which then enables the publisher to make some revenue from using the service :)
