I agree. And Twitter should add it to DM's too.

GAWD, you don't know how many married men I've propositioned over DM!

Wait, can they add it to blog comments too...

(What's the goggle app to indicate irony?)

Nicely done Mona. Potential employers Google potential employees as a regular practice. What you say here can and will be used against or for you in the court of public opinion. Just to echo your point - Google the following - "our brain vomits will forever be indexed and cached by Google"

Thank you so much... sorry for the late response. I keep forgetting to check back for comments... oops. And everything can be held against you in the court of public opinion! Big brother Google is watching us. ;)

I've seen this happen several times. I was most shocked when I went in for an interview a year ago and the Eng mentioned that he had gone back and read through the archives of my blog prior to the interview. Not that there was anything that would prevent me from getting a job in my blog, it was just an eye opener that people are going to see what I put out there.

I've found the desire to have conversations with people that I know that I want to keep between the group. The current set of tools out there hasn't really accomplished this, so I decided to try and throw something together. My little project is based on sharing news and personal aggregation but with the ability to control who each item is shared with while still allowing for easy discussion among those in the group.

I've found it great to be able to share political and financial discussions with people I know, without having to worry about the implications of where my words might end up later. If interested, the project is over at readpath.com.

Bryan: exactly. I've seen many cases where an individual was Googled, and not called for an interview or failed the final interview because of their indexed information! Hopefully your project will omit that. :)

Good luck and thanks for the comment!

I can see Twitter being great for businesses or political updates. I view it as more a bulletin board type of service if you need to get a quick message out to people you strictly have an online presence with. I have yet to sign up for Twitter because I am still having trouble seeing the relevancy for personal uses. Like you said, people Tweet about useless stuff and sometimes get their foot caught in their mouth. I don't want to read that stuff and I'm sure it annoys you and others. So for personal uses, can someone give me a better explanation so when I do sign up, I'll be more confident about it.

Hi Craig, sorry for the late response.

I too, agree that for news, political, business updates, Twitter is a great tool! Most personal Tweets seem useless, as well as annoying LOL but not all. I will do a follow up post soon exemplifying individual users whose personal Tweets are informative, entertaining, helpful, or all of the above!
