I've found LinkedIn to be an incredible resource from a business perspective. Not only can I track my network with it, but I also use it for research as you suggested.

This is exactly what social network should do and the complete opposite of the 3 weeks I pointlessly wasted on MySpace.

Most of the Vps at my large corp don't update their profile anymore on LI.
