But not that far out. Having presented at large and small technology conferences, average audience participation is 10% women at best. (And ditto for the presenters.) As for the Techmeme leaderboard. There's only about 12 individual blogs on there = room for one woman. There did used to be one - Kathy Sierra. Look what happened to her. Verbal abuse towards women tends to get a lot uglier than towards men. Mind you, I wouldn't want to have to deal with the stuff that gets thrown at Scoble either. If that's the price of entry, you boys can keep your playground.

Re: louisgray.com: I'm Not Reading and Engaging With Enough Female Bloggers

Way to pick up chicks, Louis.

Re: louisgray.com: I'm Not Reading and Engaging With Enough Female Bloggers

Nice notion, but I wonder what the percentages are in terms of male and female bloggers. If, for example, only 10% of all bloggers are female you actually were pretty representative in your list. People forget this mathematical aspect of representativeness too often.

Re: louisgray.com: I'm Not Reading and Engaging With Enough Female Bloggers

Hi Louis,

my first visit to your blog. Just heard about you today when Duncan Riley slammed you. Which means you must be an ok guy 8).

Anyway if you would like to find some more great female bloggers. Take a quick look at our speakers at BlogWorld last year:

http://tinyurl.com/2vrk5m

Blog on!
Rick Calvert
CEO & Co-founder
BlogWorld & New Media Expo

Re: louisgray.com: I'm Not Reading and Engaging With Enough Female Bloggers

Yeah. I read a lot of these bloggers, but it's because I like their stuff, not the fact that they are women.

Re: louisgray.com: I'm Not Reading and Engaging With Enough Female Bloggers

There's always me and Chris Shipley, writing on The Guidewire. : )

guidewiregroup.wordpress.com

Re: louisgray.com: I'm Not Reading and Engaging With Enough Female Bloggers

You missed Sarahin Tampa blogger Sarah Perez.
