    Louis- you shed light on what's beneath it all... humanity. I get the sense that these technologies did/ continue to bring you closer to your fellow enthusiasts/ thinkers. You have the awareness to mark the change and reflect on the positive aspect of widening the circle. I hope that the early voices will continue to speak forthright without the regard for audience acceptance/ popularity, there should still be a public outlet for honest reflections like this. Thank you for being an early guide and making your 'voice' clear through the clutter of the added noise.

    At what point is the line drawn in the sand for early adopters vs late adopters? Have we reached that point?

    I don't think it's my call to say when someone is an early adopter or a late adopter. To artificially draw that line would be silly. You also don't get any more prizes or cash money for being in the first camp. :-)

    Well, being an early adopter allows a person to shout, "First!" or some other small number.

    Shouting numbers is quite enjoyable.

    Doesn't the value of a social network lie in who's NOT there?... what defines a group is it's boundary... so when it's just your friends, you can openly experiment with thoughts, identity etc, as soon as others come along (be they work collleagues etc), the game changes, the conversation changes, the dynamic changes... and the value of the network changes... seeing this happen to lots of non-early adopter friends on Facebook...

    it happens with places, kathmandu or bali are unrecognizable compared to past times ...

    things always get worse, 2nd law of thermodynamics is irreversible ...

    something new will come along, should be a law about that, but i don't know it, creation continues (sorry christians)

    Great summary of the journey so far Louis.

    I'm definitely looking forward to the increasing FriendFeed community growth. Can't wait till I can discuss NFL football all year long :)

    I am one of the people who joined the party late. While the technology focus is diluting, to me it is still a comfortable place where people who share similar technology interests can interact and discover new interests (like sports, cooking, and families). I agree with some observations that boundaries actually have value, but FriendFeed is addressing some of that by implementing your suggestions, Louis: filtering and rooms for example. Thanks for the history lesson too! I actually didn't know that FriendFeed was brought to us by ex-Googlers.

    Coming late to the party at FriendFeed, I missed the early conversations about inside life in Google, but love the diversity of information I am finding here.

    I appreciate the long time users remorse as the group grows away from them. We experienced the same thing on www.SmallerIndiana.com Founded in December, the initial group is harder and harder to find as the ranks swell. And while I miss the intimacy of the earlier conversations, I really like many of the new visitors.
