louisgray.com: louisgray.com: FriendFeed and Google Reader Are One. Sort Of.

Glad you liked it. Thanks for the mention. :)

It might not have all those sweet features but hey, at least hardcore FriendFeeders (who also happen to be hardcore Google Reader users [and not Shyftr users for whatever blasphemous reason, hehehe, j/k] may never have to leave FriendFeed again)... well, except to get their Tweet on that is. :-D

I just don't get how come that people are so much into FF ? I don't see how people communicate via FF.....or i haven't found the way yet?

How people communicate in FriendFeed? By commenting on items. It's not only a communications platform, but a discovery platform, where all my peers filter the Web. It's like subscribing to a bunch of RSS feeds + Google Reader shared feeds + Twitter in one place, and then after that, you still have the ability to treat it like a discussion board or chat room, making it very social.

I was also able to make a few mashups for other services, as well (currently Twitter and Digg, but it should be pretty easy to make more), rather than risk messing them up, you can find them here: http://itafroma.tumblr.com/post/36165951/friend...

    Very neat trick from Matt.

Ok Louis, I actually tried this... integration. I'm not sure if I can whole-heartedly endorse this.. How does embedding GR in FriendFeed actually makes the two products better than they are separately?

By the way, I feel the same way about ReadBurner's 'integration'.

    J. Phil, it's a nice quick way to access your account to check something or add something without having to leave Friendfeed. It's not meant to be paradigm changing.

Ok, that does make sense to me, if you like to work in a single window. I
tend to have Google Reader constantly open in a separate tab.

So where was Matt when I crashed the old template yesterday ?? This IS very neat!

You do have my phone number.. should have called. ;) (per the separate discussion via FriendFeed from over the weekend... hehehe.)

Good to see this concept spreading. As another commenter says, it's hardly "paradigm changing," but since ReadBurner and FriendFeed are both about sharing, integrating Google Reader into them encourages the practice.

I-framing weather.com inside our site wouldn't make sense - rather, i-framing is about the train of thought. We actually got the idea from Mahalo Social.
