Strikes me as mozes.com but with a better (marketing/strategy) spin. Let's see how it plays out -- I'm thinking it's bold, but on the other hand, premium brands have built empires on the premise that charging a lot of money for something that's cheap/free to produce.

"fans" and "stars" throws me .. not clear about the meaning

but, i would gladly pay say, louisgray.com about 50 cents a week to read his stuff, or fredwilson ... in the same way i paid a quarter for years for the seattle times just so i could read doonesbury ..

thoughts and inspiration and coolness are worth something, somewhere, to somebody, and there is no doubt people would pay ...

is that what assetbar is trying to do?

I wondered how long it would be before something like this comes along...It looks really strong. I set up www.twitterfund.com a couple of months ago to see whether there was appetite for micro-funding the micro-blogging platform. But then $15M of VC cash came along, which turned people off. But there has to be some merit in it.
