Thanks for the mention of Cognitive Labs, local on the peninsula; whilst some are just casual brain games, others are serious (Stanford-published) neuropsychogical games.

I'm a fan of Yahoo! Games of course. Addicting Games is part of Viacom/MTV/CBS

Yes, if you value your work, do NOT go anywhere near Desktop Tower Defense. It's far more fun and addictive than any game I've purchased and it's completely free.

Gal, it's funny you mention that one. Robert Scoble (who left the second comment above) has a profile of the company behind that game, which he literally was in the process of posting as I wrote this post myself.

I've not played Desktop Tower Defense, but I know Michael Arrington and others swear by it. It might be better for me to not give it a try.

ARGH! The penalty for strikeouts and outs is ridiculous. I started a game with 6 or 7 straight home runs for 36000 points. Even after hitting a few more, I ended with less than 4000.

I'm better off not starting, cuz I get addicted easily.

In college I would often play Snood for hours instead of studying or getting homework done.
