With several decades' headstart, Silicon Valley will remain geographically ahead of the game for the foreseeable future as well, even as it seems the Web will break down borders. I can drive to the headquarters of Cisco, Intel, Apple, Sun, TiVo, NetApp and dozens of others in less than 20 minutes.
