It is aimed at kids ages 8-14 years old

they have an impressive line of protective silicone sleeves that fit snuggly over an iPod nano and include a range of hip monster creations, with editions available for both iPod nano 3rd and 4th generations.

Psyclops.com
users can create and dress their own avatars, mix their own music, and create animated dance videos that can be downloaded onto your iPod for viewing and sharing.

Re: louisgray.com: 5 iPhone Apps Your Family Will Enjoy

Great thread!

We too are parents who have ventured into the iTune App world. Apps for kids and families is something we are passionate about. As parents of a 7, 6, and 3 year old we know the toughest audience can be our own kids!

Our apps are called JingleJumble and Jumbalu Zoo. Our JingleJumble App is a Christmas-themed mix & match with wonderfully illustrated characters and sound effects (our 3 yr. old loves this one!). Jumbalu Zoo follows a similar premise but with a variety of zany animal characters. Both apps have various levels so each game can be set to be simple enough for a 3 year old or more challenging for those who like to race against the clock (moms & dads!).

The links are:

Jingle Jumble: http://itunes.apple.com/Web...

Jumbalu Zoo: http://itunes.apple.com/Web...

Check them out - feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,
Shara

Re: louisgray.com: 5 iPhone Apps Your Family Will Enjoy

My son and his friends really like this game.

Re: louisgray.com: 5 iPhone Apps Your Family Will Enjoy

Hi,

I saw that you had some success with some iPhone apps for your child. I just released my first game.

It is called Henry & Hailey's Preschool Pals.
It is a kids mix and match game.
I designed it for my 3 year old son Henry.

http://tinyurl.com/6pet2f

Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks!

Preston
www.3pmstudios.com

Re: louisgray.com: 5 iPhone Apps Your Family Will Enjoy

Hi,

We've just created a new game called WaKi SNAP! for the iPhone which has been a big hit with kids and their parents. It's based on the children's card game "snap" but the unique element that separates it from the vast majority of other iPhone games is that this is a 2-Player game that helps two children keep themselves occupied on the same iPhone at the same time (so there's no fighting over taking turns)! Parents enjoy playing it with their children as well.

Here is the link:
http://itunes.apple.com/Web...

I created it after seeing how mesmerised my young nephews and nieces were with the touch element and the motion graphics on the iPhone, so a version of "snap" seemed like a great way to get started on the platform! At least I was assured of a captive audience in them!

We hope you like it!

Nelson

Re: louisgray.com: 5 iPhone Apps Your Family Will Enjoy

Koi Pond is a favorite for my 3 and 5 year old, but it's still got lots of interface doodads that fly out and such. I kept trying to find a good game for my kids, without things that pop up randomly and take over the screen, not to mention "dying" and having to start over interrupting the fun that many games have (that Bee one) :-)

Soooo, I decided to make one! It's more of a "toy" than a game, something that is just non-stop fun and you can't lose at, and you can't break it. It's called TowerSmash and it lets your kids stack up blocks and smash em down. Simple, but my kids (and others, from the reviews) love it!

It's got great physics, and it's fun to try throwing the balls as the blocks are falling and timing it just right. More info if you want to check it out:

http://brattonbrothers.com/...

Cheers!
--Erich

Re: louisgray.com: 5 iPhone Apps Your Family Will Enjoy

Thanks, Jesse. My daughter loves to play some of the games using the accelerometer, and would probably love some of these. Thanks for the info.
