Looks like you have done your homework on this one; I reckon you could probably never run out of writing material. I am getting near that next level of hosting myself, at the moment my baby croc account with Hostgator is busting at the seams. You have certainly reminded me to grab my own domain name, the only issue I have with that is changing over my more established blog address along with its traffic and subscribers. I guess I can do a redirect, something to work on for the future.
I notice you have Disqus for your comments; I have recently signed up to them but am having major headaches importing my WP comments. Have you always used Disqus from the start or did you have to import your comments?

Only 40! was that really all you could come up with??... Kidding. Some list you got there Mike. A lot of good ideas to think about. I think a lot of your points has to do with respect and reciprocity. Respect both towards yourself and towards your fellow bloggers and your readers. I liked your point of respect being good practice in not only Social Media, but any media. Some might claim that respect and reciprocity primarily will add up to a lot of padding-each-other-on-the-back, but done constructively it's the core of social media. Great work!

I agree. It's the first thing I advise people to do when setting up a blog. It pains me to see a blog url formatting as http://blognamehere.com/?p=262. This is definitely the way to seal ones fate quickly in terms of search engine traffic. I appreciate the Digg, thank you.

I try to avoid the complicated technical jargon as it tends to confuse people, especially ones who are just starting out.
