There's also an API for this. I'm considering writing a Wordpress plugin
for it if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

B2B, ffcode, FWIW I've talked to the Cinch guys about this and they're working on embeddable Cinches. I don't believe there's a maximum recording time. The general format encourages shorter audio though. Nothing's stopping you from doing longer however.

B2B don't think there is any maximum recording time. just listened to a talk of Jesse Stay with Louis Gray and it was 26 minutes long

player is not embeddable though one can link the cinch "the audio, text and images" anywhere

You might want to give Twaud.io a try. According to New Media Update (http://www.podcastingnews.c..., they support RSS, which would be really cool. I couldn't find it on their site, nor have I used it myself, but just wanted to tip you if you haven't seen it yet.

Thanks for this post, Louis! I've been looking for something that records a little better than the in-built voice recorder for the iPhone, just downloaded the app and I'm looking forward to experimenting with it this week!

Louis, thanks for your review of Cinch. To clarify, at this time, a Cinch is unlimited in duration whether it's recorded via the phone or the app.
